“Starting in 2016, the #SheMeansBusiness program is Facebook’s long-term commitment to empower women by helping female-owned businesses participate in the digital economy. WISE has been one of our key partners in Vietnam since 2017 to bring the program across Vietnam. This year, when the Covid-19 pandemic struck, WISE was the first partner to perform the digital transformation which switch offline activities to online, thereby helping the program to continue to provide training digital skills for women, either in rural or regional areas. A research by World Bank and OECD shows that businesses with an online presence are better able to adapt to the effects of the pandemic. Therefore, our partnership with WISE is more important than ever to give businesswomen the necessary tools to help their businesses survive, adapt and resilient. ”- said Mr. Ruici Tio, Policy Program Manager of Facebook Asia – Pacific.
“Women have a lot of potentials to start and grow a business, not inferior to their male counterparts. WISE’s mission is to support and connect opportunities for women to improve their knowledge to overcome barriers of social prejudice, and inspire them to pursue their dreams. The mastery of digital tools is also considered an important skill needed for women to be more successful in the digital age. The online event today is a meaningful activity within a comprehensive supporting program that WISE, in collaboration with Facebook, implements with the aim of helping women to effectively response to the Covid 19 pandemic and grow their business” – Ms. Tu Thu Hien, CEO of WISE said.
